Pennie came to me as an ElderDog foster in June 2023. In my mind, her time with me would be temporary and I would help her move on to a forever home.  She decided that I was that home.  Pennie was diabetic, blind and anxious – but everyone who got to know her knew she was so much more. Pennie was the dog who loved to leap and twirl in the sunshine, announce her presence to the neighbours, wiggle and roll on the frosty ground, wash my cats’ ears, and greet me at the door like I was the most special person on earth. She was resilient and forgiving.  Those blind eyes of hers could see into my soul. The last six months of her life came with further health issues and Pennie died on February 5^th, 2025. We had not quite twenty months together but, my sweet Pennie, you are forever etched into my heart.
