ABBY, THE LOVELY ELDERDOG REHOMED from Edmonton here to the Valley of the Rouge. Now, sadly at the age of 13, Abby has journeyed home to on high from whence she came. It was an epic journey from Edmonton in 2019 with the amazing volunteer truck driver and of course Elizabeth Ellis and hubby who brought her on the last leg of the trip to her new home with my neighbour next door. She was lovable, funny and a sometimes visitor to my house to see Jackson and Tessa. We have come to learn as in the quote below by Mary Oliver – our time with them is never long enough.

“And it is exceedingly short, his galloping life. Dogs die so soon. I have my stories of that grief, no doubt many of you do also. It is almost a failure of will, a failure of love, to let them grow old—or so it feels. We would do anything to keep them with us, and to keep them young. The one gift we cannot give.”

Godspeed home Abby and Blessed Be – you will always be loved and in our hearts forever.
