Bentley

Sadly, ElderDog recently lost Bentley, a beautiful 9-year old who brought so much pleasure to everyone he met. Bentley lived with his companion, Shawn, for the first six years of his life. Although he was blind since the age of 2, Bentley enjoyed being with his person on the farm, running around on the property and riding on the 4-wheeler. He was protective of the barn cats and loved snuggling on the couch. Both he and his companion went everywhere together and were like two peas in a pod. When Bentley’s companion passed away in 2017, Bentley came to ElderDog. He took to his foster mum right away. He was special in so many ways. His foster, Leanne, said “He was smart, sweet, loving and thoroughly enjoyed every single moment he spent with you. He loved meeting new people, other dogs, cats, car rides, walks, smelling flowers on his walks, swimming in the pond and, most of all, snuggles on your lap. He may have been blind but you would never know until you were told. He had such a keen sense of smell, he knew where you were and always found you and would lean in for snuggles and kisses. You, my sweet boy, will be missed,”

Bentley will be fondly remembered by the ElderDog volunteers and his new family and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting this gentle soul.

RIP Bentley. You can run free again and see Shawn greeting you with open arms.
