Happy

Central Nova has lost another beloved ElderDog. Happy was one of our first dogs when Central Nova Pawd first started up in Truro. He came to us as an emergency foster while his owner was in hospital. After he went back home, our volunteers continued to offer their support to Happy and his companion by taking him for regular walks and providing a place to rest his head when his owner had to stay in hospital. Happy lived by his name. He loved his ElderDoggers and they loved him. He enjoyed his walks and greeting people along the way. Sadly, one Christmas, his owner did not come home. Since it was like his second home, his fosters decided to adopt the little guy and they’ve had no regrets. Happy brought joy and companionship to Paul and Crystal for two wonderful years. Though he was deaf, that did not stop him from enjoying life to the fullest. He liked to be with the children and relax on the dock looking out over the lake. And the cat – he loved to tease the cat!
Happy was loved for the whole 15 years of his life and he returned that love a hundred times with kisses and cuddles. Unfortunately, old age crept up and it was time for him to say good-bye, leaving a big hole in his family’s lives. Rest in peace Happy. We miss you.
