Snuggles

Our sweet Snuggles passed away very peacefully on Saturday August 1st. We kept her loved and comfy until it was time to say goodbye. Sharing the rest of her life together meant the world to us and she filled our hearts and home with infinite love.

We wanted this message to be filled with gratitude and be a celebration for our Sweet Old Lady Baby. The difficulty of the decision owners are faced with, separating from their companions is not lost on us. We were so honored and privileged to share this absolutely beautiful spirit with us in her final two years and we couldn’t be more grateful to her previous owner and ElderDog.

When we saw the post for this little lady, located in Guelph, I imagine we must have been listening to ABBA – Take a Chance On Me, as we said yes to adopting her before ever meeting her. “She likes milk bones, apples, carrots” and “she likes car rides, and is a real Snuggler” that is the bit of info we knew. Now, let us show and tell you what she was able to share about herself.

Snugs still had lots of bounce in her step! She loved to dance, hop around, and got excited about all sorts of things, and if it involved food, this little lady turned part kangaroo! Snuggies LOVED walks. While this bow-Legged beauty was less interested in the walking part, getting out to see the sights and sounds, and having a “Sniff-ari” from the luxury of her stroller, meant the world to her. Snuggles was a Diva Princess living in the moment! She preferred the presence of people, especially those who would tend to her, put their phone away when she was around, and not ask her to get her feet wet. But for every little thing you did for her, she’d return affection 10x over.

Snuggles Loved Snogging! Kisses on the hands, legs, hair, face, cheeks, and especially the lips were her favorite! Snuggles was open to adventure and wanted to share it with us! Week by week Snugs took more steps of her own, wanted to do more exploring, and, in the last few months, she was racing to the beach, sniffing out roses 🌹 from 100 yards away, and would come running back to tell you she found something new that she wanted you to see.

Snuggles had style and class! Our Old Lady Baby liked to dress up for the occasion. Whether it was to avoid the cold, celebrate birthdays, or to read her favorite Christmas story, she wanted to dress to impress! More than anything though, SNUGGLES LOVED WHAT HER OWNERS LOVED. Whether that meant sitting inside snuggling or adventuring outside, it made no difference to her, as long as you were with her and she was with you.

In her last day and moments she wanted to reiterate the truth of the words in our receiving letter. Her love for apples, carrots, car rides and most importantly, snuggles and Milk Bones right through till the end!

Thank you again for bringing Snuggles to us. We are forever grateful,

❤️ Thomas and Janet
