Walker

  • 2026

15 years ago we adopted a beautiful little Beagle puppy and we called him Walker. He gave us so many great years. Walker welcomed many foster dogs in our home through Beagle Paws and Atlantic Small Dog Rescue. He had such a big heart and loved each and every dog who spent time with us until they were adopted. In most recent years we adopted 3 dogs through ElderDog: Buster, Patches, and Lucy. Walker was very close to all three of them.

In October of 2024 Walker was diagnosed with a large tumor in his bladder. We thought at the time that we only had a few months with him and we decided to give him the best few months we could. He had other plans and decided to hang around for another 17 months. He had a strong will to live and had a good quality of life during those months. There were many days that we questioned that he was even sick. We used to say “Walker didn’t get the memo.”

We are very thankful that we were given this extra time with him.

On February 26th we had to say goodbye to this boy who we loved so much! His body got tired and decided it was time.

Walker truly was a one of a kind dog. Our house feels a lot emptier and quieter…too quiet.
