Kyle
Kyle, the giant Doodle who stole our hearts with his gentle soul, came to the Victoria ElderDog Pawd as a foster when his person passed away. Cowichan ElderDog volunteers came together to help Kyle with his rescue, clean up and rehabilitation.
Kyle was very deconditioned, collapsing several times on his arrival. His beauty treatment involved 10 hours of cutting off mats and he loved every minute. It was so amazing to see that beautiful face appear from behind the dreadlocks.
Such a strong resilient boy. EVERYONE loved Kyle. ElderDog walkers, family, friends and neighbours walked Kyle. Many small walks built up to many hikes and adventures.
Kyle loved his new life and had us all trained in no time. Mornings always started with a trip upstairs to visit John and Laurie to see their pups and receive treats. He never missed a treat or a walk. He knew what he wanted and when. If the huge woof failed to get your attention it would be followed by a stare down. He was a great communicator. On walks, if Kyle wasn’t ready to turn back, he would simply plant his feet and lean his 90lbs in the direction of his choice – giving the sideways glance. Yes! more liver strips.
Kyle was with me for over a year. He was showered with love and affection and he loved everyone back. So sweet. I am thankful to have shared his journey and will keep a special space in my heart for him always.
